The Opportunity
We're seeking a full-time Warehouse Supervisor to lead our operations team in Tasmania. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager – Tasmania, you'll supervise and coordinate day-to-day despatch, receivals, storage, quality and logistics — leading by example on the floor to keep the team productive, accurate and safe, and stepping up to run operations in the Warehouse Manager's absence. It's a hands-on leadership role, so it suits someone who enjoys working alongside their team, coaching others and keeping customers' orders moving.
What We're Looking For
You'll bring strong warehousing and logistics skills, a solid knowledge of warehouse procedures and systems, and the confidence to prioritise and lead a team in a fast-moving environment. Supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution or logistics setting will help you hit the ground running, along with intermediate OH&S and people-supervision skills, strong IT skills and a professional approach to customer service. Knowledge of stainless steel products and of racking and storage systems will be well regarded, and flexibility with working hours is important. A current Forklift Licence (LF) is essential; LO (Order Picker) and Overhead Gantry licences are highly regarded. The right attitude and willingness to learn matter just as much to us as a perfect CV.
We won't compromise on accuracy, safety, or accountability. We're after a supervisor who takes ownership of the outcome — allocating tasks, checking the work is done right and following up when it isn't — rather than someone who simply passes instructions on. You'll work closely with our Tasmania Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales, Quality and Logistics teams, so clear communication and a collaborative approach are essential.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Team Leadership & Supervision
· Supervise and coordinate the Tasmania operations team, allocating daily tasks and supporting rostering
· Lead by example on the floor, coaching, mentoring and training team members
· Induct new team members and keep safe work procedure (SWP) and verification of competency (VOC) training up to date
· Monitor performance, attendance and productivity, and report HR and OH&S matters to the Warehouse Manager
· Lead Operations in the Warehouse Manager's absence and support Chain of Responsibility compliance
Despatch & Customer Service
· Pick, pack and load customer orders in line with procedure and packaging specifications
· Greet and assist customers and couriers, providing direction on safe vehicle loading
· Prepare despatch documentation, follow up outstanding orders and investigate order inaccuracies
· Help maintain Stirlings' delivery promise (DIFOT)
Receivals, Storage & Stock Integrity
· Check, sign off and put away inbound goods accurately, including container inspections, Indent orders and credit returns
· Keep storage areas and bin locations organised, safe and space-efficient
· Inspect racking and stillages for damage and report with suggested corrective action
· Participate in stocktakes and help resolve stock discrepancies
Logistics & Document Control
· Support freight scheduling and consignment, including the Stirlings truck service route
· Ensure despatch documentation is accurate and delivered on time
· Liaise with Logistics, Sales and Processing on freight and order issues
Quality, Safety & Site Support
· Support Quality Assurance activities, including QA Hold products, product defects and quality claims
· Promote and enforce OH&S standards, safe work practices and daily housekeeping
· Support works order scheduling, the Offcut register and stock allocation
· Contribute to improvements in processes, procedures and the Digital Warehousing roll-out
· Take part in site opening and closing procedures.
Responsibilities are not limited to those listed above.
